Signal AI appoints Georgie Weedon as Head of Communications
LONDON, UK – 1st May 2020 – Signal AI, one of the leading AI companies transforming how business leaders make decisions, has appointed former UN IPCC communications strategist and Al Jazeera launch team exec Georgie Weedon as head of communications. Georgie will lead Signal AI’s global communications efforts as the company expands its AI-powered offering into new markets.
Georgie has held senior roles in communications and journalism. Recently, she has worked with tech clients in both the blockchain and software as a service (SaaS) fields in San Jose and Zug. She is currently an adviser to UK-based prison rehabilitation charity Switchback.
Georgie was the third member of the launch team of Al Jazeera English, where she worked as a journalist and executive producer, and developed the daily global current affairs programme, Witness.
She has also advised the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change as a communications strategist, helping scientists to better communicate with the global media, and partnered both the Prince of Wales’ Corporate Leaders Group on Climate Change and British Antarctic Survey, as well as several UK government departments.
Georgie was selected for the Cambridge University Climate Leadership Programme, led by the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership for leaders in their field to share learnings and best practice.
Georgie will report to Emily Westgate, VP Marketing and work closely with CEO and founder David Benigson.
